Congratulations to Alex Berg of Duke of Marlborough High School in Churchill who was recently announced as Frontiers North Adventures 2012 Bursary recipient.

Frontiers North offers the $500 bursary to an outstanding Grade 12 or mature student in Churchill, Manitoba. Extracurricular activities, academic record and plans for further education are taken into consideration when choosing the recipient.

Frontiers North Adventures believes strongly in supporting the community of Churchill,” says Lynda Gunter, who started Frontiers North Adventures with her husband in 1987. “We hope that by providing a bursary to a local graduate we help to encourage the young people to further their education, to be seen as a good role model to other students and even consider returning to the community to work”.

Alex is one of the top students at the Churchill high school and is involved with community and sports activities.  She is planning to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Brandon University and is considering pursuing a career in teaching. Other honours Alex received this year were the Top Female Athlete of the year award, the highest grade point average of her class, as well as two other bursaries.
