The snow has melted in Winnipeg which means a winter’s worth of litter and debris has re-emerged from the previously icy snowbanks.
Earth Day Park Clean Up
Last week our Frontiers North staff, tired of debris and eager to help, pulled on their rubber boots and did a park and neighborhood clean up in honour of Earth Day this upcoming Saturday. Not only was this staff activity a good way to beautify our neighbourhood, but it also gave us the opportunity to get out from behind our computer screens and go outside. Our staff take the earth and sustainability very seriously, but we definitely took advantage of this time spent outside to have a little fun.
Staff Fun on Earth Day
Our Winnipeg office team has grown over the past year, which means we were able to clean up the area in record time. We collected approximately 15 bags of garbage from two parks and the surrounding area and celebrated afterward with a potluck lunch.
Earth Day Potluck
The park clean up is an annual event for our staff and is just one of the many things we do as an office to make better choices for our planet.
Here are just a few ways we work to reduce our carbon footprint:
-
We no longer provide disposable water bottles on our Tundra Buggies and encourage our guests to bring their own sealable, reusable water bottle on board
-
As a company we work tirelessly to keep our environmental practices and sustainable efforts up to date
-
Our staff have lots of great ideas on how to fight climate change at home
